LEDs

Each button has an LED that indicates the current state:

LED	Off	Half brightness	Full brightness
Trigger	Idle	Trigger is active OR button is pressed	Both active and pressed
Duration	Strict mode off, idle	Strict mode on (idle), or strict mode off but button pressed or clock pulse active	Strict mode on and (button pressed or clock pulse active)
Regularity	Strict mode off, idle	Strict mode on, or button pressed	Both strict mode on and button pressed
Random	No random active, idle	Any random mode active, or button pressed	Any random mode active and button pressed

Startup sequence

On power-up, the LEDs play a startup sequence: they fade in one by one over 1 second, hold at full brightness for 2 seconds, then fade out over 1 second.
